2023 - Jude

Two-year-old Jude is receiving treatment for Craniosynostosis, and thanks to an early diagnosis at Alder Hey he’s on track to receive follow up treatment from the specialist team throughout his childhood.

2022 - Charlie

Charlie was rushed to Alder Hey when he was just a few days old, and was found to be suffering from apnoeic episodes. After 10 days on a ventilator, he was breathing on his own, with no more episodes. Charlie’s mum says it was hard not being able to cuddle him, but they’re making up for it now.


2021 - Micah

Micah was born with a congenital condition called Hirschsprung’s disease and spent 2 weeks in the surgical neonatal unit at Alder Hey. Now, he’s had his stoma reversed, he’s doing really well and just loves to dance


2020 - William

At just 8 days old, William had a cardiac arrest and spent 3 months in intensive care at Alder Hey. He has had two procedures on his heart, which improved his condition and he was able to go home. He’s back to his happy, mischievous self and loves cars and Rainbow Friends.


2019 - Poppy

Poppy was diagnosed with a rare condition which meant she would often choke on food. This year she is back to tell us she is doing well, loves gymnastics and Barbie, and has just started year 8!

2018 - Daniel

When he was 3 years old, Daniel was diagnosed with a brain tumour an underwent 2 life-saving operations at Alder Hey. Daniel has now had the all clear, he’s a happy and healthy young boy who loves gaming.


2017 - Isabelle, Alayna & Lottie

Sisters Isabelle and Alayna are both living with Cystic Fibrosis (CF), a condition that may mean they require lung transplants in the future. Isabelle loves arts and crafts, and Alayna loves story books, they both dote on their little sister Lottie, who is CF free.


2016 - Lily

Lily has been receiving a new medicine that was developed specifically for children with severe arthritis, it’s changed her life and she’s started to love gymnastics. Lily is now looking forward to taking her GCSEs next year.


2015 - Lewis

Lewis was born with Apert Syndrome and has had 18 major operations already. Alder Hey is one of the few hospitals that has the infrastructure, expertise and experience to treat Lewis’s condition. Lewis is now at mainstream school and just loves cricket.


2014 - Erin

Erin has been having treatment for acute lymphoblastic leukaemia since her 2nd birthday, has travelled to Seattle to receive life-saving treatment and had a bone marrow transplant too. Erin loves gaming on her Nintendo Switch and has just finished Year 7 at high school.
