How To Host The Perfect Garden Party
It's getting warmer outside so that can only mean one thing, it's time to throw a garden party! Whether it's one for the family or friends we have something to suit all your needs, from the essential dining sets and glassware to fun games and decorative accessories our collection covers it all. Use our hints and tips to help you host the perfect garden party.
Create A Relaxed Seating Arrangement
Make your guests feel at home with an informal seating plan, use some big cushions or throws on the floor to provide extra seating and encourage your family and friends to give their feet a rest. Our knitted pouffes will add a splash of colour and bring your garden to life. Make your chairs a little comfier by adding a cushion.
Pick A Theme
Create a theme for your garden party, whether its subtle and neutral or bold and bright. It can be as simple or as extravagant as you want, keep it to the table and garden decoration or expand it to the food and drinks, maybe even the dress code?! If you're stuck for ideas Pinterest will be able to get you started. We've gone with our Indigo Shores trend, full of beach blues inspired by the sea.
Decorate Your Garden
Once you've picked your theme decorate your garden to fit in with it. Go simple with some bunting to welcome your guests into your garden, or hang some paper pom poms from trees.
Set Your Table
Make it easy for guests to help themselves, get everything out in advance and ready to go when the food is served. Place the cutlery in containers so guests can grab them easily and keep the napkins handy as there's always one who drips BBQ sauce down their top. Opt for plastic plates and cutlery if you have lots of children around or go for china if you want something a little more grown up. Don't forget to have a designated drinks station, that way you don't have to play host and serve.
Choose The Right Lighting
Make the most of your time in garden with fairy lights suitable for outside. They'll help take your party from day to night and create the perfect atmosphere when everything's starting to calm down. Make use of scented candles to keep the bugs away.
Fun & Games
Keep the kids (and adults) entertained with our traditional outdoor games that can be reused after the garden party is over. Small and compact, they can be stored away neatly without cluttering up the garage. Use the chalk to draw hopscotch on the paving or get into teams and play a game of frisbee.
