We asked St Albans’ native, @LaurasLittleLocket to give us a round up of all her favourite pieces to wear for staycations. Plus, she gives us a whistle stop tour of her best local places to visit and explains why St Albans should be on your day trip bucket list.

1.A pretty floral dress
Always a summer essential! I absolutely love this gorgeous pink floral dress, it’s so so pretty, feminine and flattering. It’s really versatile too, you could wear it shopping, to a BBQ or a day out.

2. A summer wedge sandal
This is something you’re going to reach for again and again, and these ones I’m wearing are super comfy. I love the raffia neutral tone of them, they will style so well with a variety of clothing.

3. A statement jumpsuit
This is sure to become your most versatile wardrobe addition. It’s got a gorgeous button through style and it’s so lightweight, perfect for the summer months. It’s also belted at the waist so it’s super flattering and the fun polka dot print is a summer style must-have.

It’s perfect for my 3 favourite things to do: eat, wander and shop! There are so many amazing restaurants and lots of cute independent coffee shops too, one of my favourites is The Pudding Stop, absolute heaven! You’ll never go hungry around here.

There’s so much wandering to do in St Albans! You can walk around the gorgeous cathedral, plus it’s open all year round, it’s so beautiful inside and out with loads of interesting history to learn about. There’s also the lovely Verulamium park to walk around and the city centre itself is great for a wander.

There’s plenty of shops and a great mix of interiors, high street stores, independent boutiques, it’s got something for everyone. I love to visit the flower shop and pick up some beautiful fresh flowers when I pass.
