Grey Storage Box

I bought 8 of these grey storage boxes. Perfect fit for shelving unit. Perfect colour match to carpet and curtains. I was delighted. Unfortunately they give off a bad smell. I don't know what they are made of but I hung them outside hoping the smell would dissipate but it didn't. I sprayed them with a well known odour disperser but still the smell lingers. I've had them for many months and unfortunately have not been able to get rid of the bad smell. Such a shame.
