Alder Hey

Our annual Matalan x Alder Hey Collection is here! A partnership that has been changing the lives of children and families since 2014. Thanks to the incredible generosity of our colleagues and customers, our partnership with Alder Hey Children’s Charity has raised more than £6.1 million to fund vital services, research, equipment and facilities, supporting the 450,000 children and young people treated at Alder Hey each year.

This year’s collection has been thoughtfully designed with care and love, inspired by the children, families and colleagues at Alder Hey. Featuring soft, calming designs and comforting colour palettes, the range reflects the warmth and hope that Alder Hey provides every day.

Over the next two years, funds raised will support pioneering research, early years development and community wellbeing programmes that help tackle health inequalities and improve outcomes for children and families.

Together we are helping create healthier and happier futures for children and families at Alder Hey and across the UK.

Rivan

Rivan became very poorly with a rare infection and was rushed to Alder Hey, where he underwent emergency surgery. After a worrying few weeks, Rivan recovered well and is now the thriving, happy, healthy little boy he was before his illness. He started reception in September and loves spending time with his sisters Orla and Morgan.

Romily & Harriet

Romily and Harriet were diagnosed with Hip Dysplasia and Behçet’s Syndrome respectively, two very different conditions that both affect mobility. Despite their challenges, Harriet and Romily haven’t let anything stand in their way. Their shared passion for cheerleading, combined with their talent and determination, led them all the way to the Cheerleading World Championships in Florida.

Millie

Millie was diagnosed with a heart condition before she was born and had her first open heart surgery at Alder Hey at just two weeks old, with three more to follow. Amazingly, Millie was home just two and a half weeks after her third surgery, with the cardiac surgery team at Alder Hey fixing her poorly heart. Ella, Millie’s mum, said “A thank you will never be enough to the people who gave our baby a future.”
