Crafting keepsakes

@Mother_ofall_adventures

I’m feeling super lucky to have our garden and all this fabulous sunshine. This week we made memories by gathering up leaves and stones, painting them in our favourite colours and writing positive words on them. I’ll be dotting them around the house as keepsakes and a reminder of the positives during this crazy time.

Nature inspired

@Life.Simply.Styled

Absolutely nothing beats an bit of afternoon craft time fun! Amelie (age 5) and I went on a nature hunt in our garden to search for bits and bobs to make nature bracelets with. Then we decided to bring the outdoors in and wore them all day long. We had so much fun sticking, cutting, positioning our petals and colouring!

Explosive afternoons!

@UnlikelyDad

Trying to find new and exciting things to keep my son Kai (age 6) busy takes a lot of thinking. So when I came across this exploding volcano, we couldn’t wait to give it a go. Make your own with a plastic bottle and some magic solution made from water, a dribble of washing up liquid and bicarbonate of soda. It kept us entertained and counts as science homework too!

Old school fun

@Lucy.Nicholls_

We’re really enjoying spending so much time together with less structure. The other day we made sock puppets. I got the idea from the internet, but the instructions soon went out the window. We made it up as we went along, but had the best time anyway. The kids put on a show with them afterwards. As much as we made the puppets, we made memories too.

All ages approved

@ComeDowntotheWoods

One of our favourite family activities during lockdown has to be baking. This week we mastered iced buns. These were pretty simple and my mini bakers managed them with very little help from me, and they enjoyed it so much more doing it themselves. Their favourite part was definitely watching the yeast work its magic. Plenty of oohs and aahs when the dough had expanded.
