With all the brand new denim landing at the moment, we challenged 4 of our favourite influencers to pick their must-haves for the season. Expect a lot of chat around new jean cuts, pulling off double denim, becoming a jumpsuit convert and the brilliance of good stretch.
I love updating the denim in my wardrobe as we approach the colder months. Double denim is back with bang this season and Matalan is always my go-to for affordable styles, they always have a brilliant stretch and thick material that gives more of an expensive feel. After living in Texas when I was younger I always like to style my denim with a western flare, so I made a beeline for this super cool western inspired shirt, I love the shoulder details and popper front fastening. I’m also loving this new Sadie jean that's just launched, the stretch is great, I love the new kick flare cut, it’s perfect for accentuating my curves.
My wardrobe needs to work for me and that means being able to use the same denims from my casual day look, switching up my top and shoes and heading for a last minute lunch date. Matalan have the best denim range with a massive selection of jeans in various styles and lots of colour ways. I love the skinny April jean that I'm wearing here as they hug me in all the right places and are super comfortable. The lovely dark wash make them the perfect pairing for a pretty blouse and chic flats for when I want to feel a little more dressed up, these brilliant jeans are becoming my do-all wardrobe must-have.
I, like much of the world, have a love affair with Denim. Whether it be jeans or dungarees, summer or winter, casual or business it will always get the job done in style. That’s why I was thrilled to get my hands on Matalan's amazing new denim jumpsuit. I’m usually a jeans and t-shirt kind of girl and don’t often wear jumpsuits but its clean cut, soft feel and extreme comfort make a fantastic addition to my denim collection, in fact it’s my new go to outfit! I love the buttoned up look with trainers, but you can easily style it with a variety of shoes, and I look forward to experimenting more in the future. I’ll be honest I’ve always been a fan of Matalan’s denim range but this really is the feather in their cap. I feel equally comfortable relaxing at home or out on the town, cool in a warm room yet warm in the cool breeze.
I live in denim, so I was always going to be drawn to this lightweight denim dress and it was indeed love at first sight when I saw the AW20 preview back in the summer. I was counting down the days until it was in store.
It’s a tiered denim midi dress with frills so ticks all my boxes, and the cuff detail adds another frill but hides a genius elasticated cuff forcreating the perfect sleeve length. Can we talk about frills and boobs for a moment? Anyone with a chest will know, frill positioning is crucial. This dress has the Goldilocks of frills; not too big, not too small but more importantly they sit on the shoulder at a flattering angle. A nod to the 80s shoulder pads and Dynasty (ok that’s just in my head!).
Whilst the sun is still shining I can team with these denim pumps or sandals but this dress is so versatile it could work brilliantly with any trainer, chunky boot or heel. I might even try this with a jumper over the top and chunky hiker boots.
