From health to wellness, the benefits of a good night’s sleep should never be underestimated. With Sleep Awareness Week on the way, we caught up with @1FiveOne to find out her top slumber tips, including how to choose the right pillow and creating a calming space to optimize the ZZZ.
Getting a pillow that suits you is crucial for a good night’s sleep. I always make sure I have a soft and squishy feather pillow, I even take one with me when I travel! I always put an extra pillow on a single bed, and two extra on a double or king. Pillowcases that match the duvet set go on the extra pillows, they go on top when the bed is made, which means the bed always looks neat and tidy.
Finding the right tog duvet for the time of year is tricky - I like to have different summer and winter duvets to swap around when the seasons change. For size I always go large! It’s better to have a duvet that’s slightly too big, rather than too small. For a spare bed, it’s worth layering with a flat sheet to give your guests the option of layers, as some people get hot and others get cold when they sleep.
Choosing a high thread count duvet set makes all the difference, it looks great and is incredibly soft to sleep on. Layering is key to adding a touch of luxury to any bedroom. I always have a textured throw on the bottom of the bed and soft, tactile, cushions. The more textures you can add, the better, but keep them as soft as possible in the bedroom.
