What To Wear To An Outdoor Concert

Spring is here and Summer is on the horizon too! That means with brighter days and lighter evenings, all those outdoor events we’ve been craving are well and truly underway. The main event? Outdoor concerts! Whether you’re heading on a date, meeting with friends or taking the little ones on a family fun day trip, it can be hard to figure out what to wear – especially with the weather being so… unpredictable. But you don’t need to spend hours staring at your wardrobe planning an outfit, we’ve got you covered with the things you need to consider when deciding what to wear to an outdoor concert!
Consider the location

Consider the location

Let’s start with the basics. Where is the outdoor concert? Are you heading to a park? A field? Somewhere in the city? Or perhaps an open arena? The location of the event will help you make a decision about the type of outfit you want to wear because, let’s be real, we all want to be comfortable above all else! Think layers, think lightweight, think styles you can pair a jacket with when the evening chill moves in.
Check the weather

Check the weather

Our favourite topic in the UK. You know the location, now it’s time to consider the elements. We all know the British Summer can go from being scorching all morning, to raining all afternoon. It’s unpredictable at best. So, plan your outfit for all kinds of weather. Perhaps a floaty dress with a denim jacket that you can take on or off. Wherever you’re heading though, consider both suncream and waterproofs!

Choose appropriate footwear

Most outdoor concerts require standing for, well, ages. And if you’re going to see an artist you really love, let’s face it, you’ll be dancing all night long! Complete your look with the perfect shoes. Trainers are great for comfort; platforms work if you’re short and need to see above the people in front. Boots are the ultimate staple and, of course, wellies for muddy ground. If you’re planning to watch the concert from the bar, or perhaps you have VIP seating then sandals are a great Summer option! Be mindful of those around you though, nobody wants to have their toes trodden on!
