Nothing quite beats a night in on the sofa. We chatted to Debbie Le, AKA @thefashionablepan, about the importance of having some me time, what she’s currently watching and her top TV time essentials.
I’ve been binge watching not a movie, but a series at the moment! Little Fires Everywhere has been on my watch list for a while now, as recommended by all of my girlfriends. It's based around relationships between two families and motherhood. My husband isn’t interested in watching it with me, which suits me fine! I love cuddling up to my kids or the hubby for movie nights but equally I think it’s important to spend some time on your own and enjoy the things you love watching.
If we’re having a family film night we’ll all pile into our lounge, but if it's just me I’ll hide myself away and curl up on our new red snuggler loveseat as it’s the perfect size for one! Plus with my Ipad on my lap I can be in my own little world. I love enjoying a moment of peace and quiet on my own, light a candle, get the throws and cushions out - heaven!
My favourite treats are most definitely a crisp rose wine or a pink gin and tonic accompanied with sweet and salty popcorn. I will settle down in my comfy clothes, loungewear, my PJs or whatever I’ve been wearing that day as long as it's loose. These linen trousers and vintage boho top are perfect.
I’m a sucker for a romcom and all of the 80s classics such as Pretty Woman, The Goonies, Sleepless in Seattle and When Harry Met Sally. Thankfully, the hubby loves these classics too. We often put them on in the background and chill out if we have to work into the evening. Equally, I do love a good drama…one of my favourite ever films is The Shawshank Redemption.
