With restaurants, bars and cinemas still closed, we got chatting to Laura Byrnes, aka @LaurasLittleLocket, about how her and boyfriend Tom are creating lovely date nights at home.
"Tom and I met at a festival in London and have been together almost six years. Lockdown for us has actually been ok, we have a puppy so feel like new parents! But now it’s been a few weeks, like everyone, we’re missing being able to go for a nice night out together. So we started to think about how we could have date night at home. Apart from having to do the washing up, it's been great and costs a fraction of the cost of a night out!"
"I like to set the table so we’re sitting opposite each other, rather than next to each other. Then I’ll add candles for a cosy atmosphere. You can also dress the table, I think a runner looks really good."
"I love easy simple dishes, something that doesn’t take too much time. Pasta with fresh pesto, (and of course an extra sprinkling of parmesan) and garlic bread is one of our faves! Tom is usually the chef in the house but this is something I can easily whip up. Most of the time it’s actually teamwork, it’s lovely to cook together."
"We’re super casual at home and wanted to keep this date night laid back and relaxed. I’m loving this cute set, the blazer adds a little smartness but the cotton is super soft and comfy to wear, best of both worlds!"
"We try to keep phones away from the table, it helps us to actually talk to each other instead of getting distracted by constant notifications. After dinner we love to play cards, keeping screens off after dinner is always so nice."
